6 Halloween COVID friendly activities
Halloween isn’t cancelled this year, it’s just a little different so we’ve put together a few COVID friendly activities to get all the family involved….
Trick or Treat Hunt – Using our homes and gardens for a trick or treat hunt will be a great way of your little ones collecting all those sweet treats they love at Halloween. Harmless tricks such as a cute paper ghost or a fake spider in place of some treats are a great way of keeping them on their toes and searching for more.
Movie night – Get all snuggled up on the sofa with your treats and watch a film, age appropriate films for your children would best if you want bedtimes to go smoothly after Halloween is over ☺
Dance party – You don’t have to have a lot of people to have a dance party at home. Get your costumes on and put the playlist on loud with songs like Thriller, Monster Mash and the Adams Family theme tune, to get the party started!
Pumpkin decorating – If you have the energy to carve then get those pumpkins scooped, carved and with a candle lit for a spooky feel. If carving is a little too much effort, decorate the outside of the pumpkin with your little ones with whatever crafty bits you have. Think glitter, pom poms, stickers, paint, pens, tissue paper, the list is endless.
Pumpkin patches – Most pumpkin patches are still open and have all the COVID measures in place already. Be sure to book in advance as they will no doubt have reduced capacity. Avoid peak times for a relaxed atmosphere.
Haunted gingerbread house – Gingerbread houses are normally associated with the festive period, but we think a spooky makeover could be just as fun. Spider web icing covered with green and purple sweets will give it a scary look whilst being yummy to eat after.
Whatever the current restrictions in your area, we hope these ideas help to bring some spooky fun to your household this Halloween.
